Where did the reception take place?

Castleknock Hotel & Country Club In Dublin, We had 2 day wedding with a 6 course meal on the big day and the following day we had a prosecco and steak BBQ. We were blessed with fantastic weather for both days and the 2nd day was super chilled and relaxed which is exactly what we wanted!

What was the weather like for the big day?

We were absolutely blessed with brilliant weather for both days. Really sunny with no rainfall, very warm but we all loved it especially at the BBQ next day!

Where did you get your wedding dress and what brand/designer is it by?

I bought my dress locally in Drogheda and it was called Teagan by True Bride.

Why did you choose your photographer?

Paul Duane was our photographer, we actually booked him 2 years before the big day. When we got engaged and picked the venue, booking Paul was next on the list. Thankfully he had our date free. I can honestly say he was absolutely amazing.  Such a genuine nice guy who put everyone at ease and kept us all relaxed on the day. We trusted him 100% and ended up with amazing pictures which we are over the moon with.

What was the name of your wedding band and what were they like?

Tequila Rose was our band, Martina the singer is from Drogheda and also did the singing for us in the church. The band then played at the reception and I can honestly say they were fantastic. Everyone was up dancing all night long! We couldn’t recommend them enough.

What were your highlights from the day?

Walking up the aisle and seeing all our loved ones. It was great having all our family and friends together for us.

We had a Rolls Royce phantom car to the reception which was an amazing experience, and we had the singing chef Eugene after the meal who entertained everyone with his singing and jokes. The whole day was perfect, we honestly couldn’t have asked for more.

Was organising the wedding stressful or relaxed and why?

It was quite stressful in the lead up as I am a perfectionist and wanted to make sure absolutely everything was perfect on the big day.  Thankfully as I was so organized, I had everything done the week of the wedding so I was actually quite relaxed and enjoyed the build-up.

Any advice for other brides to be planning their weddings?

Just to relax and enjoy it all. Don’t sweat it over the small things, nobody even notices and when you’re planning it is very easy to get carried away.  Enjoy the day as it goes by super quick. I would definitely recommend getting a videographer as it really was a great experience watching back on our special day. You don’t appreciate so much on the day as you’re in the moment and it goes so quickly. It was great to watch it all back and see parts of the day we missed. We had Dan Devane and he did a great job and also just to enjoy it all. Enjoy the liquid lunches, the hen party, the hair and makeup trials, the nights out and everything that goes with. It honestly is the best time of your life.
